Abstract

Scientific value systems are at the heart of scientific inquiry, so it is necessary to understand how they are developed. The interaction of these values is complex in the field of psychology because of the field’s human subject matter. The proposed study will investigate how epistemic and non-epistemic scientific value systems are developed in an undergraduate educational setting. It will focus on experiences in this setting concerning peer interactions, course exposure, and research/internship experiences. Ultimately, this study aims to inform how learning outcomes relate to an alignment to a specific scientific value system.
